Art in the family
Well, nearly...
My eldest daughter's partner has a portfolio of his digital art online. You might be as impressed as I am!

It looked fantastic - and not at all deviant! :-) He's even taken the time and trouble to do all the alt descriptions and I found myself having a quick look to see if there was a portrait of you!
Didn't spot one however so I suggest you ask him to do one of you before his prices shoot up!

He doesn't even include a portrait of his partner (my daughter) even though she's a beauty (which I'm not)...butI too think he has a potential career there, if he so chooses :-)

I am impressed. They are beautiful. Does digital art mean he begins with photographs and then technically alters them using software?

Morning - yes, he often starts from a photograph, but sometimes from his own drawings or paintings, then plays around with them on the computer. That site calls it "deviant" art because each piece is a "deviation" from an original.

Hmmm I think I need to scurry off to my Dictionary. Deviant .... deviation; its a fine distinction.
And ... if he starts by using his own drawing or painting and fiddles with it a bit more can that really be called deviant. Eraser use could be called into question as could traditional dollops of oil paint on top of oil paint etc. etc.
Whatever its called it must be art 'cos we are talking about it :-)
